If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.

…fixed like a galaxy and memorized in her secret and fragile skies. Leonard Cohen

Speech after long silence; it is right,
All other lovers being estranged or dead,
Unfriendly lamplight hid under its shade,
The curtains drawn upon unfriendly night,
That we descant and yet again descant
Upon the supreme theme of Art and Song:
Bodily decrepitude is wisdom; young
We loved each other and were ignorant.
"The weight of the worldIt is a restless moment.
She has kept her head lowered,
to give him a chance to come closer.
But he could not, for lack of courage.
She turns and walks away.
That era has passed.
Nothing that belonged to it exists any more.

Ooh, perfect shot for the excerpt. What a great book!
hi,
Similar interests, mutual respect and strong attachment with each other are what friends share between each other. These are just the general traits of a friendship. To experience what is friendship, one must have true friends, who are indeed rare treasure.
I have added you to my blogroll, hope you can do the same thing for me so that we can have constant communication.
i like this photo very much. I attempted to paint the woman on the left. Not well, as is witnessed on the sidebar on my blog.
Great book by the way.
I guess that everyone who reads that book is forever in love with an idea of Paris. That beautiful photographs sums up everything that was elegant and possible in that brief time between the world wars.
...or as a young woman! I read A Movable Feast in Paris at age 22. Not much since then has been as marvelous!
